WELCOME
September 2020
Welcome to the launch of the new WBFL official league site and to a new season of high school debate. We hope to keep this website up-to-date with important news and information as we continue to support speech and debate in our area. This year's calendar is now available.
THE WALL OF CHAMPIONS
September 2020
The WBFL has produced some of the nation's top speakers and debaters. In order to better recognize our league winners, we are introducing The Wall of Champions. There are three Walls--one for debate, speech, and Congress.
There are two levels of recognition--CHAMPION and DISTINCTION. To be a champion (with your picture featured), one must be top 3, an undefeated winner, or state qualifier. The other finalists or top 6 competitors at a WBFL tournament will achieve distinction. Students who get elevated to the Wall in a given season will be removed from the Distinction List, but their qualifying results for either level will be listed with their name.
GOING VIRTUAL
September 2020
Because of COVID-19, we have gone virtual. Competition will be taking place in an online environment! Virtual presents a lot of opportunity but it also involves a lot of challenges. It is important to prepare, prepare, prepare. Detailed instructions for going virtual can be found here and should be shared with students, parents, and judges.
